Your New Role
This internship will be located in the Atlanta area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.
CNN Sports is looking for an all-star intern to experience, learn and assist in sports newsgathering and production for all CNN Platforms: TV & Digital. We are made up of enthusiastic journalists who produce content airing on CNN's domestic and international television networks, as well as CNN.com. In addition to creating content airing within news programming, CNN Sports produces CNN International's premiere sports show, CNN World Sport, airing multiple times daily.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Assist our sports newsgathering team by watching events and press conferences, then alerting key moments and soundbites for the network to use on linear and digital platforms.
• Monitor social media for daily-news reactions, statements, and fresh video elements.
• Provide support to the CNN World Sport show team by creating graphic elements, transcribing interviews, researching stories, and gathering video elements for edit.
• Coordinate daily game recordings by monitoring video quality and router sources.
• Copy edit anchor scripts and network banners before they air on CNN and CNN International.
• Assist with basic administrative and production tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
Passion for sports and a strong interest in storytelling.
Experience creating written, audio and/or video content.
Proficient with Adobe Premiere (or similar) video editing software.
Interest in sports that appeals to an international audience such as soccer, cricket, Formula 1, golf, tennis, athletics, cycling and more…
Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and reliable.
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)

What to know before applying:
The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.
Program date options:
Option 1: June 3rd – August 16th
Option 2: June 10th – August 23rd
Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
Interviewing will take place from March through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
