Ticket Sales and Service Internship

Job Description:

The Macon Mayhem seek an energetic, hard-working, and highly motivated sales associate to sell group outings and other ticket packages via phone, electronic mail, and face-to-face presentations. Create new ideas to increase ticket sales and retention, perform basic office functions as needed, and to help achieve goals of the ticket department. This internship will

be an unpaid internship and preference will be given to those who receive college credit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service to all clients including existing season ticket holders, prospective patrons, and single game customers

• Responsible for generating revenue through the sale of season tickets, partial ticket plans, group sales, and hospitality/suite rentals

• Facilitate lead generation and service through inbound and outbound calls and events

• Create and implement a group ticket sales project that could be incorporated into the department

• Perform general office duties: data entry, answering phones, copying, filing, faxing, and maintaining mailing lists

• All other duties as assigned Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Experience in sales or sports-related fields preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships

• Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail

• Demonstrated flexibility and creative problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently without supervision and demonstrate initiative

• Must be available on a part-time basis with a flexible weekend schedule

Sports Administration, Sales, Marketing, Communications or related business

majors preferred

Applicants seeking college credit for internship are preferred but not required

Experience in sales and/or customer service

Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time and to lift and/or move up to

50 pounds

Flexibility to work long and irregular hours including holidays as assigned
